Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will ensure the law is amended to allow more resources to counties if elected as president.
The Former Vice President said devolution was integral in developing all parts of the country in an equitable manner.
His statement comes months after the opposition’s Okoa Kenya referendum draft was rejected by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on grounds that it did not meet required number of signatures.
“My government will ensure that the law is amended to allow more resources to be pumped to county governments for equitable development,” he said during WDP delegates’ convention at Kasarani on Tuesday.
“Jubilee government has not shown any intention to support county governments. It still embraces federalism which we voted against,” he added.
Currently, the constitutional allows the National Government to devolve at least 15 percent of total audited revenue to counties.
