Wiper Democratic Movement Leader Kalonzo Musyoka is currently in Portugal for a global meeting of political leaders from across the world on invitation by the Centrist Democrat International (CDI).
Kalonzo left the country on Wednesday evening for a week long meeting, which attracts parties from around the globe.
Its members are drawn principally from Europe and Latin America.
The CDI's European wing, the European People's Party, is the largest political party at the European level. Its Latin American equivalent is the Christian Democrat Organization of America.
The Democratic Party of the United States of America maintains links with CDI through the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs.
Kalonzo was invited to the meeting as Wiper leader, and among other agendas in his card is to facilitate the admission of the party to the global network.
Among the member parties of this network include the Democratic Party of the United States of America through the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs.
Before his departure, the Cord co-principal held a meeting with the visiting Hungarian Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto, where matters trade, investment and diplomacy where discussed.
Kalonzo was accompanied to the meeting by Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana.
He is expected back in the country early next week.
