Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is a ‘cooked’ man. Some of his mature political children have been floored in the just concluded elections. His prediction of a half-naked leader seems to be becoming a reality.
Those he fronted to preach Wiper gospel at the top county level in Kamba land have failed him.
Machakos gubernatorial lose by Wiper is the hardest for Musyoka to stomach. Kalonzo was accused of holding unfair nominations where he fronted his preferred candidate.
The misunderstanding led to Senator Muthama’s decision not to defend his seat in the Senate. Kalonzo settled on former CCU boss Wavinya but she has been beaten.
Wavinya has refused to concede defeat and accused Mutua of rigging but the biggest loser is the former Vice President.
In Kitui, Wiper’s Julius Malombe came a distant third. Former Lands CS Charity Ngilu won the seat while Senator David Musila was second. Musila was on the ballot as an independent candidate after he disputed Wiper nominations that favored Governor Malombe.
The fact that Musila garnered more votes than Malombe proves that all is not well for Musyoka.
Wiper has to strategize how to bounce back. If this is not prioritized, Kalonzo Musyoka should start forgetting the presidential ambition.
