Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said that Wiper Party Patron Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is a clean man.
The county boss, who was speaking during ODM's National Delegates Convention at Kasarani stadium in Nairobi on Friday, said that claims that Kalonzo has been involved in fraudulent deals have no basis.
The remarks of the ODM Deputy come after the former vice President was put on the spot over unaccounted funds at the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation.
Joho, however, said that Deputy William Ruto is the man behind the Ukambani political kingpin’s woes. The outspoken governor claimed that Ruto has hatched a plot to bring Kalonzo down as leaders of the opposition strategize on how they can ascend to power under the leadership of Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga, who was named NASA flag bearer.
"We know Kalonzo very well; he is as white as snow. That drama you are trying to drag him into will not work," he said, as quoted by Star.
On the cost of living, Joho said that the state has been exporting milk to Uganda and then importing sugar, adding that is not good for the economy of this country.
"We know they are exporting milk to Uganda and importing sugar and selling it expensively as our own industries close down," he added.
