Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has said that Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is the main target in the fight against Former Kathaini MP Wavinya Ndeti to become the next Governor of Machakos.
Speaking after Ndeti was barred from contesting for the area’s governorship, the lawmaker said that there are forces that want to bring down Kalonzo before the next general polls.
Mwangangi, the national vice chairman of Chama Cha Uzalendo, also said that the war between National Super Alliance and Jubilee is to blame for the problems facing Wavinya Ndeti, who has since appealed the case.
“The fight against Wavinya is beyond what many can see. Those behind it have Kalonzo as their target and in fact the whole of the NASA fraternity. Kalonzo is the custodian of the agreement made between Wiper and CCU and there are people who want to bring him down by ensuring his party lacks a candidate for governor,” he said, as quoted by Star.
The legislator also said that the claims that Wavinya Ndeti belongs to two parties are baseless since she had resigned from Chama Cha Uzalendo to join Wiper. “After signing a deal with Wiper to have Wavinya run on the Wiper ticket, she immediately resigned from CCU and joined Wiper,” he added.
