Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar says Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka is too weak to lead and may not ascend to presidency in future.
In his first address after resigning as Wiper Secretary General, Omar recounts a number of instances that his former party leader failed to show leadership.
“Kalonzo is too weak and unfocused to lead and I want to assure you that he can never be president. He fails to show leadership when it’s needed most,” he said on Monday at Mombasa.
The renowned human rights activist added:”I was under attack from Governor Hassan Joho in his presence yet he failed to show leadership. I have also come under attack from some ODM members.”
Omar resigned on Friday citing frustration from a section of NASA leaders and maintained that he will challenge the outcome of Mombasa governorship in court.
His unprecedented exit from opposition politics could be associated with strained relationship with Governor Hassan Joho.
“Kalonzo even failed to make Ukambani a NASA zone so no one can associate the coalition’s failure to me. He keeps on ignoring when we advice him and that is why he has lost a number of friends,” Omar said, perhaps making reference to former Wiper Chairman David Musila.
