Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have clearly shown that they cannot listen to leaders who tell them the truth but the opposition will not tolerate them as well.
Speaking in response to Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and other leaders’ arrest, Kalonzo said that leaders from the opposition will not sit back and watch the seating government take the nation to the wrong direction.
“The country should not take the road that Jubilee wants to take us. This kind of intolerance is unacceptable. They have gone berserk and cannot listen to the truth but we will not entertain such action in the modern Kenya,” said Musyoka, as quoted by Standard.
Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and his Siaya counterpart James Orengo also backed Kalonzo remarks saying that the state’s actions are unacceptable.
“This is abuse of power, intolerance and the highest degree authoritarianism; I have seen the reports and the pictures from Mombasa. His arrest was uncalled for and a travesty of human rights that we condemn,” said Orengo.
Joho’s trouble started when he lashed at President Uhuru Kenyatta for attempting to take credit for projects he did not initiate in the region.
