The 2016 Dignitary man of Africa and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has faulted the Jubilee government for the fiasco in Rio De Jenairo saying that the government has completely failed to fight corruption in the country.
Speaking in Kyuso Town, Mwingi North Constituency while presiding over a fundraiser in aid of the area's women's groups, Kalonzo said it is a shame that the glory of the Kenyan team at Rio Olympics had to be overshadowed by corruption allegations against officials of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya.
"At the point when citizens of different nations were lining up to get their awards, our competitors were missing out a great opportunity for their well-deserved spotlight in light of the fact that the authorities who went with them are being arrested on landing at the airport. It is such a disgrace," he said.
He also advised government officials against riding on his name to win political power then pivoting to deceive him and the Kamba community at large.
"I am fed up of being utilized like a carpet by narrow-minded individuals who once they get elected, pivot to sell the community. It is a disgrace," he said.
Kalonzo, however, asked Governor Julius Malombe and Senator David Musila to tame their supporters and lecture peace amid their campaigns.
"Dr Malombe is a leader in Wiper while senator Musila is the national executive of the party. As they go after the party's ticket in the gubernatorial race, they should be extremely watchful not to destroy the party," he said.
