Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has lauded members of Cord led by Senator Muthama Johnson for pushing for Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) reforms.

Muthama, Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu and Siaya senator Orengo James were appointed by the opposition to spearhead the disbandment of the embattled commission.

Speaking at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport (JKIA) after jetting into the country from New York, USA the Cord principal appreciated the efforts made by the team to ensure that the IEBC is leaves office. “They did a good job in ensuring there shall be no rigging and MPs should not embarrass Kenyans,” he said.

Muthama and his team recommended that the appointment of new commission to be undertaken before the end of next month in a move meant to ensure free and fair elections.

The Joint Parliamentary Committee on electoral reforms has presented the house with a report recommending the right procedure to smoke out the IEBC commissioners from office.

In the past, the opposition has accused members of IEBC for lack of impartiality during elections. The news comes a few days after the Wiper leader emerged the winner of African Dignitary Man Of The Year 2016 by a global humanitarian Organisation – We Care for Humanity.
