Wiper leader and former vice president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has commended the Jubilee government for giving Machakos County an opportunity to host this year’s Mashujaa day.
Speaking during at a reception organised by Wiper party to honor him for scooping the African Dignitary Man of the Year 2016 award, Kalonzo said that the nation will remember the Jubilee government for devolving national holidays.
“And if there is one thing that Jubilee has done correctly, it is to devolve national day celebrations,” Kalonzo said.
This is the first time for the celebrations to be held outside Nairobi. The Ukambani political kingpin welcomed Uhuruto’s decision to celebrate this historic event in Machakos for the first time.

“I wanted this event to rise above party politics, it is for this reason that I had even invited our Jubilee friends,” he said.
