Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) co-Principle Kalonzo Musyoka hint that the opposition wills us street protests to express its dissatisfaction of the controversial amendments to the election laws.
On Thursday, Senate passed the amendments that would allow electoral body use a manual alternative voting method, contrary to the opposition’s wish.
Speaking on Friday during a press conference, Musyoka said opposition shall make its next course of action during a conference for all aspirants on Wednesday next week.
“You saw my friend Joseph Nkaissery (during John Keen’s funeral) telling us that he was ready to face us. We are now telling him to be prepared for huge demonstrations,” said Kalonzo.
“We are convening on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya with all aspirants in opposition parties and we will let the country know our next course of action,” he added.
Kalonzo also warned that the country would become a failed state should President Uhuru Kenyatta assent to the controversial law.
