Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has taken his campaign to Lamu County as he seeks to ascend to power in the forthcoming general election. Kalonzo’s Saturday tour will be his first in the county, reports The Star. The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal will be accompanied by Wiper deputy party leader Shakilla Abdalla and other leaders as he tours different areas including Kizingitini village in Lamu East.In the afternoon, the Ukambani political kingpin will address a public rally at Mkunguni Square, Lamu town. The party boss is also expected to meet and welcome new entrants into the party as the August polls draw closer. Abdalla, who spoke on Friday, also revealed that Kalonzo is expected to sell both Wiper and NASA manifestos during his tour in the county which is considered an opposition stronghold. A few weeks ago, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto attempted to woo the county’s Governor Issa Timamy to cross over to Jubilee but their efforts did not bear fruits. The former vice President’s tour comes after ODM cancelled its rally in the area.
