Wiper leader Kalonzo pursuit for the National Super Alliance presidential flagbearer position has received a massive boost after signing an election deal with small parties in Ukambani.
The deal will see Kalonzo solidify his Ukambani support base in a bid to become the NASA flag bearer.
The pact was signed between Wiper, Narc Kenya (Charity Ngilu), Chama Cha Uzalendo (Wavinya Ndeti) and People’s Trust Party (Mutua Katuku).
The party leaders have agreed to bury old rivalry and rally behind Wiper ahead of the August General Election.
In the deal, Ngilu, Ndeti, and Katuku will work with the Wiper party leader in pushing the community agenda within the Opposition National Super Alliance.
“We’ve closed ranks on several issues but most importantly we want to ensure our community gets the best deal within Nasa in terms of budget allocations, power sharing and government appointments” Mr Katuku is quoted by Nation.
Currently, NASA is working on naming a presidential candidate within Kalonzo being among the favourite candidates.
