Wiper MPs abandoned Kalonzo Musyoka's reservations to his planned swearing-in along with Raila Odinga, a Nyamira based politician close to Wiper leadership has intimated.
For months now, Kalonzo is said to have opposed the swearing-in plan on grounds that it could discredit his international reputation.
But with pressure from NASA supporters and Raila Odinga's succession battles, Kalonzo was forced by Wiper MPs to accept the swearing-in concept.
"His intention was clear but Some MPs might have cautioned him against going against swearing in idea.
"The MPs feel that he must walk with Raila to survive in his 2022 bid thus he has not option. He was however against the idea at first," added the source, who spoke in confidence.
Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, also seemed to have changed tune, when he categorically insisted that the swearing in shall go on despite showing reversvations.
When contacted, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said the change of tune was necessary for the future of his party leader.
"You cannot be rigid all the time. There are many factors we considered thus the decision to push for swearing in. He has not option other than going with majority."
Initially, Kalonzo is said to have spoken strongly against the swearing-in before being overpowered by determined legislators.
