Taita-Taveta Senator Dan Mwanzo has endorsed Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka to be the presidential flag bearer in the 2017 general election.
He endorsed Kalonzo in Taita-Taveta County rally for Kalonzo`s campaign over the weekend.
Mwanzo who was elected through an ODM ticket has been skipping Raila Odinga`s tour in the region.
“Unlike other aspirants who don’t inform of their tours in the region, Kalonzo called and informed me of his tour in the County to seek for votes, precisely the reason for me accompanying him to inform electorate that he is the best Presidential candidate,” said Mwanzo
“I was party to a pre-election deal signed that Kalonzo would support Raila in 2013 and Raila reciprocate in 2017, Raila should honor the deal for the sake of the coalition’s stability and survival,” he said.
Mwazo maintained that he is still in ODM.
Kalonzo urged ODM and Ford Kenya leaders to give him a chance to lead CORD to victory.
“I respect Raila and Wetangula very much and I’m beseeching them to allow me to be the flag bearer in 2017,” said Kalonzo.
Mwanzo accused Jubilee government of corruption, tribalism and marginalizing some Kenyans in employment and resource allocation.
“We will offer an accountable leadership that will address poverty, unemployment and squatter issues,” said Kalonzo
Present in the rally were John Mruttu Taita-Taveta Governor, several members of parliament,Political aspirants and a woman representative.
Kalonzo promised to address problems facing the Coast communities once he wins the presidency.
