Wiper party members have prevailed upon party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to run for the presidency come 2017.
In a meeting held at Kalonzo’s ranch in Kithimani, Yatta constituency on Saturday the leaders in their speeches stated that Wiper was capable of producing Kenya’s next president.
Among those who attended the meeting were top leaders in Ukambani including Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama, Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana.
“Wiper party will produce a presidential candidate in 2017 and all leaders you see here are speaking that language,” said Francis Nyenze, the National assembly minority leader.
Replying to the calls, Kalonzo said: “I have listened to what all of you have said to me, and I have heard you.”
Kalonzo Musyoka did not directly say that he had accepted the call though there is optimism in Ukambani that he will heed the call.
