Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has taken a thinly veiled attack on NASA leader Raila Odinga, accusing him of nicknaming him 'watermelon'.
This came to the fore on Friday during an ODM National Governance Council Meeting at Orange House in Nairobi, where he had been invited as the Wiper Party leader.
“I am not a coward, people calling me names really don’t understand who Kalonzo is, they call me watermelon, they make fun of the fruit by making it dance and they assume that is Kalonzo dancing," he said.
He added: "I like the name as well as the fruit so much, it is the fruit I have learned that it is so sweet, and some of those calling me watermelon don’t understand where the name originated from. It is Hon Raila Odinga who gave that name to me, and I enjoy it so much,”
Other invited guests were ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang'ula, who missed to attend with an apology.
Kalonzo also went ahead to promise ‘sibling rivalry’ in NASA, saying his party Wiper will give a great competition to ODM party.
“And let me tell you, Wiper Party came from ODM-Kenya, we are a sibling party to ODM, and we promise them a sibling rivalry in the coming future,” noted Kalonzo.
