Wiper Party Patron Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has assured his supporters that the political movement will not give direct tickets to any candidate before the next general polls.
Addressing the hundred of residents after the Wiper Party National Executive Council meeting in Nairobi on Tuesday, February 21, Kalonzo the decision was reached with the aim of avoiding internal wrangles among different party members as the next general polls inches closer.
The former Vice President also said that even Makueni Governor, Kivutha Kibwana who recently signed an agreement to work with Wiper Party is not entitled to direct nomination when that time comes.
Kibwana opted to fold up his Muungano Party after several leaders from the region led by Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama pressurized him to do so.
According to Muthama, parties like Muungano and Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti’s Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) were confusing voters in this part of the nation.
On his part, Wiper party Secretary General, Hassan Omar, who is also eying the Mombasa Gubernatorial seat downplayed speculations that Kibwana will walk away from the party if he is denied a direct ticket to defend his seat during the up coming general polls.
