Wiper Party Patron and former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has affirmed that he will no longer play a diplomatic role as Cord seeks to pick its flag bearer.
Speaking during voter sensitization campaign in Machakos and Kitui counties on Sunday, Kalonzo asked opposition to back his bid because that he has what it takeS to smoke out President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto from power.
According to the Ukambani political kingpin, this time round he is not ready for monkey business as the race to state gets tougher.
"For a long time people have said Kalonzo is a diplomat but I am telling them that this time round we are going to play hard," he said, as quoted by the Star.
He also said that his desire to vie for Presidency has been backed by his people. "This is the message from the people. I want [Machakos Senator Johnson] Muthama to get it very clearly because he chairs the Cord coalition together with [Siaya Senator James] Orengo; for Trump to win in America, he did not play politics of diplomacy," he added.
Cord leader Raila Odinga, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi have also expressed interest in the nations top seat.
