The Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka will not be present during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Ukambani three-day visit.
This comes days after leaders of the region said that Kalonzo would receive President Kenyatta during his visit.
"We cannot run around looking for where the President is in the region. We, however, welcome him in our area and ask our people to turn up in large numbers to welcome him," Musila said during a press conference.
Leaders of the area said that they were willing to welcome the president but they were not informed of the visit and neither the programme. Something they said has shocked them.
The Kitui senator, David Musila told the press that Kalonzo would not be present during the tour as he was not invited.
The President began his three-day tour today with the first stop being Mlolongo where he was received by the Machakos governor, Alfred Mutua.
Kenyatta is scheduled to visit Machakos, Kitui and Makueni where he will lure residents of the area into voting him president next year.
