Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed his optimism of flying the opposition Cord's Presidential flag ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Speaking on Thursday during a meet-the-people tour in Machakos and Makueni counties, the former Vice President challenged the Cord co-principals to back him for the top seat, maintaining that he is best suited to unseat the Jubilee administration.
“I will have no problem with my brothers Raila and Wetang’ula if any of them proves to me that they are the best suited to face Uhuru, but as for now, every Kenyan understands that I am the best man to send Jubilee home,” Kalonzo said.
“This time round we are not backing down. We are not going to allow anyone to play around with the destiny of this country anymore,” he added.
Musyoka deputised ODM Party leader Raila Odinga in the 2013 elections where the duo lost the polls to President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.
The Wiper Party top brass has been in the forefront urging coalition partners ODM and Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya to back Kalonzo Musyoka for the presidency on grounds that the same was contained in a memorandum of understanding signed by the principals in 2013.
