Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday unexpectedly asked Former Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, whom he campaigned for during the August General election, to abandon the idea of challenging governor Charity Ngilu’s win.
Speaking during the launch of the people's assembly in Machakos, Kalonzo said that there is no need for Malombe to file a petition against the governor when he came third in the contest. He also said that Ngilu has vowed to stand with him as seeks to rise to power in 2022.
“My sister Ngilu has resolved to support me, her counterpart Kibwana too, we must exchange ideas,” Kalonzo said.
He further reached out to Malombe, asking him to support Ngilu as she continues with her first time in office. The Ukambani political kingpin also said that he has consulted with several leaders from the county over the matter, adding that they do not want to engage in endless tussles with the government.
“Tumuombee Charity Ngilu, and I ask Malombe if he is still a Wiper member ajue I have since checked na majority ya wiper members hawataki mambo ya vurugu Kitui county,” he said.
