Lawyer Judah Kioko and professor Edward Kisiangani have questioned the integrity of Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka following the nullification of Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti’s candidature in the August General elections.
The duo sought to know why Kalonzo, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Senator Mutula Kilonzo, all lawyers could wait until Ndeti’s name is struck out of the governorship before they start crying out.
"The leader of Wiper Party is a lawyer, how is it possible that they could give Wavinya a party nomination when they knew IEBC could not clear a candidate who belongs to two political parties," said Kioko. His reiterated by Kisiangani who said: "I feel justice has not been done. It looks like someone is targeting Wavinya Ndeti," said Kisiangani.
The nullification of Wipers nomination will shift the political situation in this region. Ndeti was considered the strongest competitor of the incumbent Governor Alfred Mutua. Ndeti has fought several battles to ensure that her name is in the ballot box but her hopes seem to be fading each day.
The recent twist of events is likely to give Mutua another term in office after the August general election. Ndeti was removed from the race after it emerged that she belongs to two parties, as per IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.
