Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s son, Kennedy, is on his way to the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) after Jubilee leaders backed his nomination. National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale revealed that he has asked leaders who stood with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto during the August elections to support Kennedy as he seeks to join parliament.
The election of the members to join EALA is expected to take place today in the afternoon. The nomination of Kalonzo’s son to join the house had continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions.
Some time back Non-Governmental Organisation, Angaza Empowerment Network moved to court to file a suit to block Kennedy’s nominations.
"Article 38 of the Constitution provides that every citizen with a right to free and fair elections based on free expression of the will of the electors. The list submitted by the 3rd, 4th and 5th Respondents are in breach of Article 38,” the petition reads in part.
The leaders of the opposition, however, maintained that they will stand with Kalonzo’s son until he gets the post.
