ASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka is now accusing Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen of misleading the nation over his recent remarks, that the alliance leader Raila Odinga is pulling out of the Presidential race.

Speaking in a television interview Sunday, Murkomen had alleged that Odinga has predicted a defeat in the hands of the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta in the October 26 repeat polls and is still deliberating on the most honorable way to drop his candidature.

However, speaking at a press conference on Monday, Kalonzo downplayed the remarks terming them as baseless speculations.

''The remarks from Senator Murkomen are totally untrue. These kind of speculations are not good for the nation and should be avoided at all cost as they are misleading,'' said the Wiper party leader.

He said the comments were as a result of the fear within the Jubilee block further assuring the alliance supporters that the race is on.

''The remarks clearly result from the fear our competitors have upon realizing that we are actually headed for a win.No such decision has been arrived at and if need be, they will be taken and defended openly,'' he said.
