NASA deputy presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka has lashed at President Uhuru Kenyatta for blackmailing the Akamba community with his forays into the region.
Musyoka said that the President is launching projects in the region instead of commissioning them.
The Wiper chief countered President Uhuru’s and DP William Ruto’s visit to the region by terming their projects as insincere.
Speaking at a rally in Matuu, Kalonzo played down the projects by Jubilee including the Matuu-Ekalakala road that the former Vice President said might be among those that have not been factored in the national budget.
Other NASA pricipals Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi accompanied Musyoka and Machakos gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti to cool down the Jubilee effects. Other leaders present were Mavoko MP Patrick Makau and Wavinya’s deputy Peter Mathuki.
Kalonzo said that some of the projects Jubilee is using to campaign were initiated when he was the Vice President. He also accused Jubilee of plotting to rig the polls and urged voters to turn up convincingly.
“Let Jubilee commission projects instead of launching them because some are not even factored in the budget. The rehabilitation of Yatta canal and Yatta Dam were conceived by the grand coalition government, in which I was vice-president,” Kalonzo said as quoted by Nation.
