NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has reiterated his determination to take oath as 'people's deputy president'.
Speaking on Tuesday night, the Wiper leader said he was ready to be sworn in as earlier planned at the 'right time'.
Kalonzo said despite missing the Uhuru Park 'swearing-in' of his co-principal Raila Odinga, NASA leaders were still united in their push for electoral reforms in the country.
"I am ready to take oath at the right time. I would want Kenyans to know that we are people whose resolve is not easily shaken," he said.
In an audio recording circulated via social media platforms, the former Vice President blamed his failure to attend the event alongside that of Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula to 'reasons known to the public'.
"Wetangula, Mudavadi and I did not make it to Uhuru Park because we’d been detained in an undisclosed room in the city. That’s what happened," he said accusing police of blocking them from accessing the oath venue.
Kalonzo assured the opposition supporters of unity among the NASA coalition principals despite pulling a no-show at Raila’s ‘big day’.
"For now, I urge those spreading information on the networks not to do anything that would bring disharmony in NASA. We, the four principals, are a close-knit family," said the Wiper Party leader.
Kalonzo has been blamed for 'betraying' Raila with some supporters asking the former Prime Minister to ditch NASA and focus on strengthening his ODM party.
