The four judges of the Supreme Court that nullified the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta deserve a Nobel Peace Prize, National Super Alliance (NASA) principal Kalonzo Musyoka has said.

According to the NASA presidential running mate, the ruling by the top court in Kenya marked the end of electoral malpractices in the country.

“The judgment by the Supreme Court was historic and has only happened in three countries across the world. The four judges deserve a Nobel Peace Prize as there will be no rigging in Kenya again,” Kalonzo said during a campaign rally in Nyamira County on Tuesday, as quoted by the Star.

The four, Chief Justice David Maraga, Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, Smokin Wanjala and Isaac Lenaola ruled in favour of NASA's petition challenging the results.

They cited irregularities in tallying and transmission of results by the IEBC. The court ordered a fresh election in 60 days.

“A decision is hereby issued that the elections held on August 8, were not conducted in accordance with the Constitution and the applicable law. The results are therefore invalid, null and void,” the Chief Justice said.

However, Judges Jackton Ojwang and Njoki Ndung'u dissented.
