Wiper Party leader and Cord co-principal Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has rubbished claims that Gema-Kamba meeting will shift politics in Ukambani.
According to Kalonzo, Cord remains the strongest coalition in the region despite defection by some members who joined Jubilee.
The former vice president's sentiments come after The Gema Cultural Association (GCA) organized a meeting with some elders from the Akamba community in a bid to woo Kamba leaders so that they can vote for Uhuruto in the next general elections.
It is alleged that the two communities agreed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming general elections in a meeting which Kalonzo has termed as inconsequential.
With the recent political situation in Ukambani, it looks like the Wiper leader is losing grip of the region. Wiper Party was among the parties that lost many members to Jubilee during it's launch.
On the other side of town, Maendeleo Chap Chap leader and Machakos governor Alfred Mutua is adding salt to the wound as he continues to popularize his political outfit before the next general elections.
Despite his long political career and influence in the region, Kalonzo is a worried man. There have been speculations that he is likely to ditch Cord for Jubilee if things do not turn out as he wishes.
