DP Ruto has distanced himself from allegations that he is being funded by Wanjigi ahead of the August general elections. Last week, Kalonzo, NASA Deputy President, has asked Ruto to come clear about his relationship with Wanjigi.
“It is Wanjigi who funds Ruto.We don't know where they clashed...let him tell Kenyans the truth about Ruto,” he said, as quoted by Star.
The remarks of the lawmaker did not go well with Ruto as he drums up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Citizen TV on Sunday, Ruto challenged Kalonzo to shed more light on his claims. He reminded Kalonzo not to continue dragging his name into scandals without evidence.
"Kalonzo should answer the allegations...instead of dropping names, the name Wanjigi did not come from me. It came from Kalonzo. Ruto noted that Kalonzo knows more about the businessman in question."
So, he must be knowing more that I do about Wanjigi and corruption cartel," the DP said. The rivalry between the leaders has continued to hit the headlines as the election date draws closer. President Uhuru Kenyatta had earlier on asked Kalonzo to cross over to Jubilee.
