Addressing journalists after meeting church leaders at ABC Bomani, in Machakos, Kalonzo said he would like to meet the Head of State once he jets back in the country from Cuba.

Kalonzo said that he intends to meet Uhuru alongside his NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to discuss the details of the meeting held between the Head of State and opposition chief Raila Odinga on Friday, last week.

He, however, noted that they will only hold the meeting if President Uhuru agrees to the proposal.

“Because we believe in constructive dialogue, the three of us would like to sit down with President Kenyatta. So that we can hear his side. I’m aware he’s traveled to Cuba but when he comes back, if he’s willing, we’ll see him. If he doesn’t wish to, we cannot force things,” said Kalonzo.

The former Vice President said the opposition coalition supports the deal between Uhuru and Raila, adding that NASA is willing to work with the government for the sake of Kenyans.

“The intention is that NASA will stay as NASA. We can be in opposition and work together because this is one country. We’ve accepted and surrendered because if our Captain says that is the way to go, the facts speak for themselves,” he added, as quoted by Capital FM.
