Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Senator Mutula Kilonzo have different opinions on why NASA leaders did not take part protests the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Earlier on, Mutula had said that the leaders avoided the streets because of lack of security.

“We did not attend the demonstrations because we did not have enough security; they have further cut down on MPs security leaving one police per person,” he said, as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.

The former vice president has, however, dismissed the senators’ claims saying that the common mwananchi is the security of the opposition, adding that withdrawal of their bodyguards has nothing to do with failure to take part in the exercise.

“Our supporters are our security, we feel safe when we mingle with them,” he said, as quoted by Standard.

The Ukambani political kingpin also said that he is ready to ask leaders of the opposition to take part in the fresh election of two demands are met, which are withdrawal of controversial election amendments and dismissal of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba.

“If Chebukati sacks Chiloba today and President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy drop their mischievous Election Laws Amendment Bill currently executed on their behalf in Parliament, I will request Raila that we teach Jubilee a lesson in the repeat polls,” Kalonzo said.
