Wiper Democratic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that MPs who recently defected to Jubilee from Ukamabani should be prepared for a by- election.
Musyoka who was speaking on Sunday stated that the five constituencies in Ukamabni that saw leaders defect to Jubilee from Wiper should conduct by-elections.
"It is improper for those who have joined Jubilee to remain in office for the remaining period of their term," said Musyoka.
He said that the law does not require any politician to be in two parties at the same time hence a by-election was necessary.
Musyoka who was speaking during a press conference in Mwingi North said that he had no problem with leaders defecting to Jubilee because it was their right, but the law must be followed appropriately.
"For those who have joined jubilee it is their democratic right but it is also the right of those who voted for them on a wiper ticket to express their frustration by going to the ballot," said Kalonzo.
The opposition has been calling for by-elections to replace leaders who defected to the recently launched Jubilee party.
