NASA presidential running mate in the August 8 elections Kalonzo Musyoka has broken his silence over the planned swearing-in of opposition leader Raila Odinga on December 12.

Through Wiper deputy chairperson and Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Kalonzo said he is supporting the ceremony, confirming his attendance.

"I have talked to our party leader and he has confirmed that he will be here on Jamhuri Day to attend the big event," he told KU TV on Wednesday.

The Senator, however, did not reveal whether the former Vice President will take the oath of office alongside Raila.

Kalonzo has been in Germany for some months now attending his ailing wife, Pauline Musyoka.

Mutula further said the Wiper boss was also backing the establishment of the people's assembly.

"We have his blessings to form the assemblies in the counties to push for our reforms agenda which is progressing well," he added.

NASA has maintained it won't call off the controversial inauguration despite the United States rejecting the move, which it said was unconstitutional.

Raila's adviser Salim Lone said the planned swearing-in will be lawful and will help to prevent the country from being polarised further.
