Wiper Democratic Party could bolt out of the National Super Alliance on Wednesday (today) after an ultimatum issued on Tuesday elapsed.
With only five months to elections, the opposition outfit is facing a major acid test on how to pick its presidential aspirant.
And National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze, a close ally of Co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka, told Citizen TV that they will bolt out should the opposition fail to name Musyoka as flag bearer by Tuesday evening.
“We must learn to be honest and that is our position. The 2013 MoU must be adhered to and it is the time for Kalonzo,” he said adding that Wiper will pull out if the agreement is violated.
“This committee is leaning towards one side and they cannot be allowed to make a decision even if we meet hundred times,’ he added.
Sources within the coalition had intimated that the coordinating committee had settled on Mr. Odinga ahead of its final day of submitting report on Thursday.
Already, the collation failed to meet Nyenze’s expectations on Tuesday and it would be interesting to see the new development within the collation.
