National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka  met a hostile crowd in Mukuyuni after an attempt to endorse Wiper candidate for the Kaiti parliamentary seat Joshua Kimilu.

The former Vice President was jeered by supporters of Kimilu main opponent Joseph Kioko of  Peoples' Trust Party (PTP).

He was forced to cut short his speech after his attempts to calm the rowdy crowd were met with resistance.

The Wiper party leader gave up and instead asked the residents to elect an MP who would put their interests first.

"Vote whoever you want but you must know that when NASA wins the coming elections we need to have a backup in Parliament by having Wiper party MPs," he said, as quoted by Standard Digital.

Kalonzo condemned the incident and called on residents to be wary of leaders hell bent of causing violence ahead of the polls slated for early next month.

“We are known to be a peaceful people and we do not want leaders who want to create division,” said Kalonzo.
