Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has hit out at former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu who has filed a petition in court seeking to stop Raila Odinga’s planned swearing-in set for January 30.
Addressing Kabati residents in Kitui West on Thursday, Kalonzo said that Mutambu and other politicians are being used by Jubilee to frustrate the opposition reforms agenda.
He said that the petition filed Mutambu in court lacks merit, adding that their swearing-in is unstoppable.
The former Vice President said that their planned oath is anchored on chapter one of the constitution that gives the people the power to choose and decide.
“I hear some people are packing and running in court corridors to stop our swearing-in on Tuesday, let them continue wasting time because where we are now nothing can stop us,” he said.
Kalonzo said that Jubilee blew off the chance for dialogue and should stop frustrating their reforms agenda.
On Wednesday, Mutambu filed a petition in court seeking to have Raila’s planned swearing-in stopped.
The former Wiper MP in his petition claimed that NASA's planned swearing in is illegal and a threat to national security.
NASA has insisted on swearing in Raila and Kalonzo as the people’s president and deputy respectively.
On Friday, the opposition released documents that it claims shows that Raila won last year’s August 8 presidential election that was later nullified by the Supreme Court. The opposition now says it will us eth results to swear in Raila and Kalonzo on Tuesday.
The government has termed Raila’s swearing-in illegal and highly treasonous.
