The veteran politician, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that the leaders of the opposition are not interested in a coalition government. In an exclusive interview with Standard Digital Entertainment (SDE) on Saturday, Kalonzo said that the push for dialogue has nothing to do with nusu mkate government as some of the leaders of the Jubilee side have been claiming.
He maintained that the opposition will not relent in the push for electoral reforms. He also said that it is unfortunate that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto did not see the need for dialogue when he proposed the same some time back.
“We have made it absolutely clear that this is not about a nusu mkate kind of a thing. It’s much more serious than this. It’s unfortunate that when I made the offer they did not respond. They were busy chewing,” he said, as quoted by SDE.
The NASA Leader also said that the diplomats have not backed the Jubilee regime as alleged by their leaders. He affirmed that he will continue advocating for talks between the two sides before Raila takes an oath of office as planned earlier on.
At some point, he dismissed claims of division in the opposition saying that they were only striving to make Kenya a better place.
