Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti not to give up on politics after her petition challenging governor Alfred Mutua's re-election was dismsied by the court .
Speaking at Wiper Party offices in Lavington when he met Mavoko Wiper politicians on Monday, Kalonzo asked Ndeti to remain steadfast and not to be coward by the loss.
Kalonzo said that Wavinya is a seasoned politician who has qualities of leading Machakos as governor.
"I want to ask Wavinya Ndeti not to give up seeking justice and to remain steadfast in her political endeavours," he said.
Mutua said that Wiper does not regret endorsing Wavinya to fly the party ticket in the Machakos governor race.
He said that the Friday court's ruling that upheld Mutua's win was unfortunate.
" Machakos people made their decision on August 8, 2017 and elected Wavinya Ndeti as their governor but someone else was announced winner, it is unfortunate even the court failed to see this," he said.
Kalonzo said that they will support Ndeti in case she decides to appeal the court ruling.
The Machakos High court upheld Mutua's win dismissing a petition that had been filed by Wavinya Ndeti.
High court judge Aggrey Muchelule ruled that Ndeti's petition lacked merit.
The court slapped the former Kathiani MP with Sh10 Million fine as cost for the suit.
