Wiper Party Secretary General Hassan Omar has move to allay fears that the outfit's Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will vie for presidency after it emerged that the former Vice President's name was on IEBC list of presidential candidates.
Kalonzo had earlier expressed interest in vying for the presidency under NASA, but shelved his ambitions in favour of ODM Party leader Raila Odinga - who is giving the presidency a fourth stab.
But speaking on Monday, the Mombasa Senator maintained that Kalonzo was still a NASA coalition co-principal and that he remained committal to the outfit's agreement signed last month alongside four other Opposition leaders.
The lawmaker's remarks were reiterated by NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga who spoke separately in a telephone interview with the Daily Nation.
"Any speculation on the matter is unfounded. We could not submit documents before they announced date of receipt," Mr Odinga said.
"The Nasa coalition instruments makes Wiper’s presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka the running mate to its presidential candidate. That is how it is and ought to be," he added.
