Few days after his Foundation was put on spot for allegedly failing to account for Sh146 million, donor funds, Kalonzo Musyoka has come out to defend himself.

The Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Coordination Board suspended operations of the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation, May 2, with immediate effect, with Executive Director Fazul Mahammed also ordering that the Foundation's bank accounts at the I&M Bank, be frozen, for immediate audit and investigations

Following the troubles, Kalonzo who is Opposition's presidential running mate, has blamed the troubles facing him, on Deputy President William Ruto.

He said the Number Two, in command (Ruto) instigated the malicious allegations against him, so as to cause his political downfall, after he was named Raila Odinga's deputy, in Nasa.

''We know people who were driven by vendetta and it is number two and his people. I am not exonerating [President Uhuru Kenyatta] but I would be very surprised if he would besmirch a family,'' Kalonzo told the press in Karen, Nairobi.

He dared the NGO Coordination Board to arrest him, for alleged money laundering, adding that he was ready to be grilled by any institution, over the same.

"I want to ask the Coordination Board, to stop being used by some governmnet people, to target me. My institution serves people from across the country, and it has been in operation for long. How can it be, that it's only now that they found out whatever they are saying. There timing is very bad. There timing is wrong- and we know them,'' he noted, Wednesday, at Watermark Business Park.

He was flanked by National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze, Wiper Deputy secretary general Judith Sijeny, Makueni governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana, among other party leaders.
