Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka could after all bolt out of opposition outfit NASA and run as a sole candidate in August polls, claims political analyst Gideon Mamboleo.

Although he has maintained that he is in opposition to stay, Musyoka however insisted that he will go nothing short of presidency on Monday.

And Mamboleo now says the former VP could ‘test’ his political muscle ahead of 2022 polls given stiff competition within the opposition.

“I am seeing a scenario where Kalonzo will go alone in August not that he will win but just to test his acceptability across the country,” he said in Tuesday interview with the reporter.

Mamboleo added: “The Presence of Musalia Mudavadi and Hassan Joho within the opposition could curtail his 2022 chances. He has no option other than standing on his own.”

Reportedly, talks within the opposition NASA’s technical committee have stalled with Wiper Party believed to be having a hardline position, insisting of producing a flag bearer.

On Tuesday, Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior admitted existence of differences in the opposition but urged the four NASA principals to hold a meeting and decide a flag bearer on their own.
