Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that he will sue the government over the 200 acre land in Yatta, Machakos county that the government claims he allegedly  grabbed.

Kalonzo says that he has instructed his lawyers to file relevant suit papers in court next week after the National Youth Service (NYS) issued him with a notice to vacate the land on which he has build his retirement home.

Kalonzo says that he was served by notice to vacate two weeks ago.

The Wiper leader maintains that he owns the land in question and has all the documents to prove ownership.

"I will be moving to court next week because the government has no right to issue me with a notice to vacate  a property that I genuinely own," he said in an in an interview with a local Kamba radio station on Saturday.

Kalonzo said that the government is using the property  in question.to fight and intimidate him in regards to NASA's reforms agenda.

He said that he bought the land when he served as the Vice President during the former president Mwai Kibaki regime.

The Wiper leader said that he will not fall to intimidation adding hat his lawyers will prove in court that he owns the property.

The National Youth Service claims ownership of the controversial land.

Controversy surrounding the 200 acre Yatta land first came to the light in 2016 when Machakos governor Alfred Mutua told the senate committee on County Public Accounts and Investments that Kalonzo had allegedly used his influence while serving as Vice President to acquire the land.

The Machakos governor had also petitioned the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the National Lands Commission (NLC) to probe the controversial land.
