Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has yet again asked ODM leader Raila Odinga to drop his fourth bid for the presidency and back him.
Kalonzo has insisted he is the most suitable candidate to beat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August polls.
The Wiper Party leader made the remarks at Kalundu Market in Kitui Township.
Kalonzo said it was high time Raila and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula came back to reality, read the mood on the ground and accepted him to be the Opposition’s flag-bearer.
“I am the most appropriate presidential candidate for Cord in this year's elections. It is my time take the baton. My conviction tells me I am likely the next president of this country,” he said.
He added, "It is high time my brothers Raila and Wetang'ula gave way for me to proceed as the man to wrestle Jubilee from power."
The former vice-president wants Raila to support him like he did in 2013.
He was accompanied by several leaders, including: Governor Julius Malombe, Senator David Musila, Senator Johnson Muthama, Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala and MPs Susan Musyoka (Machakos), Patrick Makau (Mavoko), Kyengo Maweu (Kangundo) and Makali Mulu (Kitui Central).
Opposition supporters are still anxious on who will take on Jubilee’s candidate, President Kenyatta, in the August 8 election, following the formation of the National Super Alliance (NASA), which was Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi’s brain child.
