Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu now says that Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party is ‘dead’ following Hassan Omar’s exit as the party secretary general.

Mutambu who defected from Wiper to Jubilee Party last year says that Kalonzo has no future.

Speaking to journalists in Mwingi Town on Thursday, the former lawmaker said the of Omar’s resignation as Wiper secretary general is the beginning of Kalonzo’s political troubles.

He said that Omar was the engine behind the party, adding that it is a matter of time before Kalonzo becomes politically irrelevant.

“I can tell you for free that Wiper party is ‘dead’ and cannot resurrect,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.

Mutambu said that wiper party did not have the interests of the Kamba community.

He asked the Kamba community to come together and former an outfit that will fight for their interests.

He added that the region only option of remaining relevant on matters national politics is by working with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party.

“I will continue to ask the Kamba people to work with President Kenyatta’s party because that is where our hope is,” he said.

He also pleaded with Kalonzo to dump NASA and work with Uhuru Kenyatta.

The former MP said that the Wiper leader is wasting time clinging to Raila Odinga.

Mutambu lost his seat in the recently concluded general election.

He is among Ukambani poll losers who have vowed to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the repeat presidential election on October 17.
