Yatta Member of Parliament Francis Mwangangi has accused former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka of failing to use his experience in politics to unite the Kamba people.
Speaking to the press at his office on Thursday, Mwangangi said that Kalonzo has vast experience which he is not willing to use to bring together leaders.
The MP stated that the division among the Kamba people is a threat to development of the region.
“The former VP should use his experience to unite the people and leaders," he said.
Mwangagi said that the region will remain sidelined if leaders are not ready to work together.
The legislator said that most leaders in the region are led by greed and personal interests.
“Our region will remain poor if leaders are not willing to work together,” he added.
The lawmaker also asked leaders to take the interests of the people first by implementing projects that will benefit them.
He observed that it is time for the region to wake up and claim some f the top national leadership positions.
The MP asked Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to be on the frontline and spearhead development.
He added that time is quickly running out yet people have no access to basic services.
