Muysoka, a senior politician and favourite to succeed President Mwai Kibaki in 2013, fallout with the duo and subsequently joined his former ally cum foe Raila Odinga in the hotly contested 2013 polls.

In his new memoirs, against all Odds, Kalonzo had reportedly reached and agreement with Kenyatta to run as president.

“I clearly remember the night I felt betrayed by Uhuru and Ruto. This was the night our alliance died. We had agreed with Ruto that I would on the presidential ticket, with Uhuru as my running mate or vice versa. Ruto was to be Majority Leader,” he writes.

“Ruto and Jimmy Wanjigi together with Uhuru came to my house and at this point I realized things had changed. Ruto told me to choose another position but not the presidency or deputy presidency,” said Kalonzo in his explosive Memoirs.

He said the G-7 alliance later on ‘died’ when Senator Johnstone Muthama convened a meeting at Karen club where the three attended in which Ruto and Uhuru told them off.
