Wiper Party Patron Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a scathing attack at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for being unfair in the compensation of International Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the country.
Speaking at Nyaturago Stadium in Kisii, Kalonzo criticized the duo for ignoring some communities in the settlement of persons displaced following the 2007/2008 Post Election Violence.
He urged the head of state to revisit the issue with immediate effect for the sake of suffering Kenyans. "We should be bold enough to tell the President that they have resettled IDPs from only two communities.
If they want us to forget the past, let them compensate every Kenyan who was displaced in 2007," he said, as quoted by Standard.
The former vice President remarks come amidst complains by human rights activists, leaders and IDPS themselves over their re-settlement. Kalonzo also insisted that leaders of the National Super Alliance (NASA) will remain united until UhuRuto leaves office after the August general polls.
"We will remain together as a team. We will get the best candidate to be the NASA flag bearer," he added. He further said that the opposition is well-prepared to unite all the 42 tribes including Makonde tribes if elected into power.
