Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Maliti has urged former Vice President (VP) Kalonzo Musyoka to ditch the opposition.

Maliti wants Kalonzo to abandon NASA leader Raila Odinga and work with leaders who are visionary.

Speaking to journalists at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos Town on Friday, Maliti   said that Kalonzo is wasting time clinging on NASA.

He stated that NASA has nothing to give to the former Vice President, adding that the Wiper leader must think and reflect on his political future now.

“Kalonzo Musyoka is one of our own and we will tell him the truth no matter how it hurts,” he said.

Governor Mutua’s deputy claimed that NASA wants to tarnish Kalonzo’s international and diplomacy reputation by forcing him to participate in an illegal swearing-in.

He claimed that Raila’s push to be sworn-in is calculated at destroying the former Vice President.

Maliti asked Kalonzo to be brave enough and quit the opposition which he accused of propagating violence and hatred.

The Machakos deputy governor asked Kalonzo to bury his pride and make a decision that will save him from political oblivion.

Pressure has been mounting on Kalonzo to dump Raila after   NASA failed to clinch the presidency in the concluded presidential election.

On Sunday last week, NASA was forced to postponed Raila’s swearing-in on grounds that the event could not take place in absence of Kalonzo who is in Germany attending to his ailing wife.

Reports indicates that Kalonzo will jet back to the country over the weekend to attend the late Kitui west MP Francis Nyenze’s burial slated for Tuesday next week.

Kalonzo is also expected to attend the swearing-in of his son Kennedy Musyoka who was elected to the East Africa legislative Assembly (EALA).
