Wiper Democratic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked Raila Odinga to back him as Cord flagbearer in the 2017 elections.
Addressing a series of political rallies in Nyamira, Kalonzo claimed that he twice backed Raila’s bid for country's top seat without success and it is the time Odinga reciprocate by supporting his candidature.
The former vice-president has been traversing the country in recent time to drum up support for his Wiper party as well as his candidature.
There had been confusion over who among Kalonzo, Wetangula and Odinga will lead the opposition coalition in the race to deny president Uhuru Kenyatta from getting a second term in office.
The entry of ANC's Musalia Mudavadi will further create more confusion in the opposition as they seek to divide seats among themselves. Kalonzo insisted that Cord coalition’s affiliate parties will not be dissolving to form one entity as it happened with Jubilee counterparts.
However, the three co-principals remain confident that Cord will pick it's best candidate from among them.
